Body Mass Index
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. BMI is a way to determine when extra pounds translate into health risks. The higher your BMI, the greater your risk of developing additional health problems. Muscle weighs more than fat, so these calculations should serve merely as guidelines.

A BMI of over 25 is considered overweight.

BMI Guidelines:
  • Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
  • Overweight = 25-29.9
  • Obese = 30 or greater
